Role Overview
An established and forward-thinking logistics organisation is looking for a skilledWarehouse Dispatch Managerto lead and optimise its warehouse facility near Liverpool Airport. This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role, responsible for overseeing all core warehouse functions including Receiving, Inventory Control, Storage, Fulfilment, Dispatch, and Direct Despatch.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with a strong operational mindset, committed to driving efficiency, safety, and team performance in a dynamic environment.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Manage daily warehouse activities across all departments: receiving, storage, picking, packing, dispatch, and returns
- Ensure the facility operates in a clean, safe, and compliant manner aligned with internal policies and regulatory standards
- Supervise the receipt and inspection of goods from suppliers
- Resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate documentation and timely processing
- Maintain optimal inventory levels using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- Implement effective stock rotation strategies (FIFO/LIFO) and maximise space utilisation
- Conduct regular audits and cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy
- Oversee the picking, packing, and dispatch of customer orders
- Ensure timely and accurate deliveries via internal fleet or third-party logistics providers
- Guarantee all shipments are accompanied by correct documentation
- Manage direct deliveries to customers or retail locations
- Collaborate with transport partners to ensure cost-effective and timely distribution
- Lead, coach, and develop warehouse staff across all functions
- Manage shift planning, performance reviews, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- Utilise ERP and WMS platforms for operational tracking and reporting
- Present performance metrics and cost analyses to senior leadership
- Identify and implement process enhancements to improve workflow and efficiency
- Demonstrated experience in warehouse or logistics management
- Strong leadership capabilities with a focus on team development
- Proficient in inventory systems and operational reporting
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
- Solid understanding of health & safety and compliance requirements
