Job description

We have a number of openings for working for our prestigious client in Castleford as a Warehouse Coordinator. Are you looking for a job that offers long-term development? If so, we have the following opportunity for you. No previous experience is required as full training is provided and internal development is given priority. This vacancy offers genuine opportunities to earn a permanent contract.

As a Warehouse Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring that you support the FLM / Shift Manager to achieve an efficient and effective operation meeting goals and objectives. You will plan, co-ordinate, supervise, and report upon the work activities of a team, providing effective communication, leadership, motivation, training & development. Cost reductions and effective team planning are to be always in place. You will manage the fulfilment of customer orders ensuring that all department targets and customer promises are always met.

Role of Warehouse Coordinator:

  • Team Management in Ecommerce
  • Direct the daily activity to ensure a safe, secure, clean, and fair work environment for team members
  • Facilitate effective communication and relationships both inter-shift and with other departmental functions
  • Assist FLM's in managing all disciplinary and grievance issues (complaints) in line with HR policy
  • Assist FLM's in the completion of accident investigations
  • Ensure effective control of MHE usage to minimize damage providing evidence of spot checks
  • Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) in ecommerce
  • Ensure company policies are communicated, applied, and enforced
  • Support FLMs in delivering improved productivity levels using coaching and mentoring skills ensuring individuals are aware of their responsibilities and fulfill them
  • Work in collaboration with other sites to maximize efficiencies and best practices
  • Any other reasonable request within the scope of the position with flexibility to work any shift requirements across a 24/7 operation
  • Maintain personal hygiene and appearance to a professional and acceptable standard at all times
  • Manage and adjust staffing levels to meet operational requirements
  • Deliver team member performance reviews, development, and/or succession planning as appropriate

Key skills and experience in this role will include:

  • 3+ years of experience in warehousing / logistics
  • Good analytical and numerical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal leadership, motivation, and planning skills
  • Excellent communicator (verbal / written)
  • High School / secondary education - Essential
  • University degree or equivalent - Desirable
  • Previous managerial experience - Essential

Working Hours and Shift Patterns of Warehouse Operative:

  • Monday to Friday, Rotational Shift (06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00), working a total of 40 hours every week

Pay Rates of Warehouse Operative:

  • £12.27 Days & Afters, £15.34 overtime hours
  • Paid Weekly
