Position overview:

Optimas is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Warehouse Operative to join the team. This role will report to the Warehouse Manager/Team leader.

Responsible for:

Meeting the requirements of the Company’s Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental policies, ensuring that the company’s policies and procedures are followed at all times.

Principal Activities:
  • Understand, develop, and promote the Company’s business objectives and participate with enthusiasm and commitment to achieve and exceed them.
  • Ensure regular performance reviews with Line Management and relevant personnel.
  • Agree on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with Line Management to monitor performance.
  • Understand your work requirements and receive supervised training as per the Company’s training standards.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Verify that picked items match the description on the note.
  • Pick and pack items securely to prevent damage during transit.
  • Arrange for certification issuance as per the picking note.
  • Pack similar size parts from different manufacturers together, maintaining their identity and segregation.
  • Load goods for dispatch within deadlines.
  • Check labels for damage and request replacements if necessary.
  • Cover for envoys as required, subject to relevant licenses.
  • Unloading delivered goods.
  • Verify received goods against delivery notes and purchase orders.
  • Book products into the system, batch boxes, and pass samples and paperwork to Inspection.
  • Store goods in designated locations or transfer to boxing or subcontracting operations.
  • Confirm receipt of accompanying documentation such as material and test certificates.
  • Repackage bulk products into smaller quantities as required.
  • Fill boxing machine hoppers as necessary for waste management.
  • Move boxed goods to storage locations.
  • Resolve picking discrepancies.
  • Notify line manager of potential stock outages.
Skills and Competences:
  • Previous warehouse experience, ideally in a distribution center.
  • Forklift License / MHE training preferred.
  • Ability to work at height.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Focus on results, speed, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Flexible, team-oriented, with a can-do attitude.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Customer service focus.
  • Decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Manual handling ability, lifting up to 20kg.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt across all warehousing duties.
  • Flexible work pattern across three shifts (AM/PM).
