Job description

We are currently looking for a Warehouse Assistant/ Van Driver to join Sovini Trade Supplies, part of The Sovini Group.

As a Warehouse Assistant/ Van Driver, you will be expected to:

·Ensuring all orders are picked, ready for loading on Sovini Trade Supplies vehicles.

·Delivering orders to STS customers in the surrounding area using a van.

·Replenishing stock in the correct warehouse locations, stock receiving purchase orders and stock rotation duties.

·Completing warehousing duties as instructed by Senior Personnel.

·Serving customers via our trade counter service facility.

·Maintain detailed knowledge of all products and materials (i.e. qualities, uses, sizes, quantities, availability etc.) and to understand what items / building materials are required for both Trade & Retail Customer’s needs.

·Operate the BISTRACK system without error and administer all transactions as percompany guidelines

·Maintain safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat; maintaining clean shipping supply area; complying with procedures, rules, and regulations

·Meet appraisal targets and support the delivery and achievement of overall business objectives.

·Commit to equality and diversity and to promote non-discriminatory practices in all aspects of work undertaken.

·Adhere with the Health and Safety at Work Act to take reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts and omissions.

To be successful in a Warehouse Assistant/ Van Driver role, the skills you will need:

·UK driver’s License

·Experience of working within a Building Supplies Industry.

·Excellent oral and written communication skills.

·Ability to prioritise and manage workload to meet strict deadlines.

·Self-motivated with enthusiasm, commitment and drive and ability to work under pressure and still produce a high standard of work.

·Ability to work as a member of a fast paced team.

·Ability to be flexible, multi-skilled and willing to go the extra-mile.

·A thorough understanding and strong commitment to Equal Opportunities Policy issues, demonstrating a commitment to working effectively with an Equal Opportunities Framework.

·Excellent communication skills, able to communicate across multiple channels including Microsoft Teams, Face to Face and Email.

Experience or Knowledge of the below would be advantageous but not essential:

·Valid counterbalance FLT license

·Experience of driving delivery vans, multi-drop deliveries and delivering bulky materials to customers.

·Knowledge of legislation, regulations, policies and procedures relevant to transportation.
