Job description

The purpose of this role is to assist the Sales and Systems Integration Teams through the administration and preparation of equipment for sale and/or installation. The role will provide invaluable support to ensure that the operation delivers exceptional service to its customers, ensuring output meets the requirements of the business. The Warehouse Assistant will assist with the preparation, maintenance, and delivery of audio systems.

Your day will look like:

  • Booking in of all goods and equipment.
  • Store, organise and rotate stock following the correct procedures and storage methods.
  • Assist with monthly stock checks.
  • Immediately reporting to managers any anomalies, lost, stolen or damaged equipment.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of new and used audio systems within the warehouse.
  • Assisting with the loading and tipping of courier / transport vehicles.
  • Ensuring equipment is delivered within timelines and with appropriate packaging and documentation.
  • Professionally liaise with third parties and customers to provide a high standard of support whilst adhering to Solotech’s customer service standards.
  • To develop safe working practices according to H&S policies.
  • To assist in general warehouse operation and organization.
  • Using Forklift to load / unload vehicles and ensure safe working environment is kept at all times.
  • Supporting exhibition preparation and load out.
  • Your role may be required to assist, or cover for, other roles within the company for which full support / training will be given.
  • Communicate (both written and verbal) with all areas of the business and outside sources in a clear and effective manner and in accordance with Solotech’s core standards.
  • Any other reasonable ad-hoc requests as required by your manager.

Essential skills / experience:

  • Identifying and developing improvements to performance and processes through continuous improvement.
  • Work as a member of the team, developing positive working relationships with other Solotech’s colleagues, departments, and external contacts.
  • Show initiative and use the ability to work unsupervised, whilst recognising when to ask questions.
  • Flexible and adaptable with the ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure – the role is fast paced, with several jobs loading / unloading simultaneously
  • Able to interact with people of all professional levels.
  • Good administration skills and an excellent telephone manner.
  • Ability to use a computers, in particular Microsoft Office packages.
  • Knowledge of pro-audio equipment. (advantageous)

Other requirements:

  • Full clean driving license.
  • Right to work and remain in the UK.
  • Forklift license is desirable (training will be provided if without).

Level of education:

  • Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent)

Work experience:

  • A minimum of 1 years experience within a warehouse environment
