Healthy Pet Store Ltd is recruiting a Part-Time Warehouse and Replenishment Operative in Totton, Southampton. You will manage stock in cold stores, replenish shelves, and assist other teams to keep products available.

The role involves heavy lifting, cold environments, and a fast-paced retail setting. This position requires reliability for 12 hours per week (Thursday, Saturday, Sunday) with potential extra hours; training is provided and PPE is supplied.

Qualifications

• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to switch between a cold environment (-18°C) and ambient conditions.
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy products in line with HSE guidelines.
• Calmness under pressure and a can-do attitude.
• Experience in logistics, warehouse and/or retail replenishment is desirable.
• Driving licence is a bonus for potential cover roles.
• Good numeracy and literacy; able to use a computer.

Responsibilities

• Booking in and storing frozen and ambient deliveries with accuracy.
• Organising and tidying cold stores and in-store freezers for easy viewing of products.
• Ensuring safe working practices at all times.
• Liaising with other departments to minimise loss and damages and report properly.
• Sharing best practices to improve service proposition.
• Replenishing frozen and ambient stock from warehouse to retail freezers and shelves.
• Ensuring ambient stock rotation; collaborating with Retail for freezer rotation.

Reporting to the Warehouse and Replenishment Manager, Warehouse and Replenishment Operatives make sure the store is replenished with the right stock when customers need it. We rely on every single employee working in Logistics to roll up their sleeves and get the job done - it’s your energy that helps get our products into the hands of our customers. The role is physically demanding; frozen produce is heavy and while trolleys and pallet trucks are provided, there will be the requirement for manual handling to get items into their correct location in the coldstores and shop floor. To do this, you’ll be using handheld devices, product codes and an EPOS system.

You’ll appreciate the challenges which can come with a growing retailer, such as changing processes and procedures which are needed to improve efficiency. Therefore, you’ll be flexible and cooperative and also be ready to come along with your own ideas which could help improve the way we do things. You’ll be fulfilling one of the most important jobs for the store – to ensure stock is available. This is not a customer facing role, so you will not be engaging with customers other than taking customers to the location of products in store during replenishment.

We are currently recruiting for a Part-Time Warehouse and Replenishment Operative to join our team. This role involves working 12 hours a week on a Thursday (4 hours), Saturday (4 hours), Sunday (4 hrs) with occasional extra hours as required, subject to availability. There are further hours available to cover leave and sickness.

Responsibilities Warehouse

• Booking in and storing frozen and ambient deliveries with accuracy
• Being responsibility for the organisation and tidiness of the cold stores and in-store freezers for the safe storage and ease of viewing of all products
• Ensuring safe working practices are observed at all times
• Liaising with other departments to ensure loss and damages are kept to a minimum and correctly reported
• Sharing best practices with colleagues to continuously improve our service proposition
• Replenishment of frozen and food category stock from coldstore/warehouse to retail freezers and shelves/hooks, ensuring that products are readily available when customers want them
• Ensuring ambient stocks are rotated. Frozen rotation is carried out by the Retail team during freezer cleans

Production

• Fast and accurate labelling of products in own label categories
• Accuracy when looking up barcodes and price look ups

Skills, knowledge and experience

• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Capacity to switch between a cold environment (-18˚ centigrade) and an ambient environment (PPE provided)
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy products within HSE guidelines
• Calmness under pressure
• Hard-working, with a can-do attitude
• Previous experience in a logistics role, ideally from a warehouse and/or retail replenishment environment, is desirable
• Driving licence is a bonus to potentially cover Home Delivery drivers
• Good level of numeracy, literacy and be computer literate.
