Are you a Mental Health Nurse with supervisory or leadership experience?

You will be joining our Older Adults and Dementia Mental Health Oak Ward at The Redwoods Centre, Shrewsbury. Oak Ward is an assessment ward mainly covering Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin.

We provide care for males and females with possible or diagnosed organic mental illnesses. We also care for older adults with a functional mental health diagnosis. You will be responsible for leading by example to junior colleagues within the team, acting as Nurse in Charge of the ward and providing clinical leadership.

Main duties of the job
  1. Participate in setting and agreeing on clinical and educational standards for the service, and develop systems to enable such standards to be measured and evaluated.
  2. Develop effective communication within your area of responsibility and promote positive working relationships with individuals, departments, and other care agencies within the community. Plan for the future development of the service to meet client needs.
  3. Ensure optimal utilization of manpower resources and keep managers informed about developments, service needs, and priorities.
  4. Establish and foster a climate where staff attitudes, knowledge, and skills are developed and aligned.
  5. Provide evidence-based specialist clinical advice within the service and contribute to future service development.
  6. Actively participate in delivering objectives in collaboration with quality leads to enhance clinical standards.
  7. Monitor workload management within the service.
  8. Undertake clinical audits and quality monitoring as appropriate.
  9. Participate in setting quality standards, including auditing, monitoring, and reviewing practice in line with current clinical guidance and policies.
  10. Act as a clinical supervisor.
