Role Summary
This is a fixed term/secondment role for months. The ward is called Capener-ACE based on RDUH.
The Acute Frailty Ward (Previously Known as ACE) is looking for a Ward Sister/Charge Nurse to lead and manage the caring nursing staff of the ward. The applicant must have good leadership skills, passion, and compassion for healthcare for older people, with knowledge about Frailty and understanding of the service's goal to promote independence among older patients.
The applicant may need to work in different clinical environments such as Frailty SDEC and other front door areas, and be involved in teaching and developing staff, the ward, and the service.

The Acute Frailty Ward aims to treat older patients within a multidisciplinary team to enable quick return home. The unit involves Geriatricians, Ward Doctors, Frailty Nurses, Admission Avoidance, and Community Teams. The applicant should have experience working with older patients in an acute setting, strong leadership skills, and a good understanding of managing sickness, policies, Datix, handling complaints, and PDRs. Ensuring good patient flow and liaising with Frailty Nurses and Site Management are also essential.
Working hours include weekends and bank holidays. The interview date is to be confirmed. The salary reflects the Agenda for Change 5/6 rates, with a pay award to be implemented later this year.
