Job Overview

We seek a passionate midwife to manage MAU/Maternity Triage at Newham University Hospital, ensuring optimal resource use and effective 24-hour coverage.

Role Responsibilities

The ward manager will oversee the safe delivery of services in the Maternity Assessment Unit/Triage, ensuring high-quality, safe care, and leading the current triage system.

Detailed Job Description & Responsibilities

Specific Duties

  • Sign and approve all bank shifts by Monday 10 am, modify shifts as needed, and review times for realism.
  • Prepare rosters 8 weeks in advance, review annual leave, and liaise with bank staff for shift coverage.
  • Sign off previous months’ rota for pay by the 5th or prior Friday.
  • Ensure accuracy of annual leave entitlements on e-roster.
  • Review sick folders daily, update sick leave on e-roster, and manage staff absences.
