Job description

Overview

The Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust Outpatient Department facilitates and supports a wide range of Gynaecology outpatient services, both face to face and remote. We are looking for an experienced Charge Nurse to join our Broomfield team to lead the day-to-day running of the department and provide support to all services within it following induction and ongoing support.

You will use your experience to develop and maintain good departmental management and act as a positive role model, showing clear concise and strong leadership. You will support both qualified and unqualified staff, whilst enhancing and ensuring a positive experience and patient safety at all times.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Gynaecology outpatient services and staff.
• Ensure appropriate communication mechanisms are in place and promote and maintain effective communication within the multidisciplinary team and between other colleagues, patients and relatives.
• Provide strong, clear and consistent leadership to the Gynaecology Outpatient team, acting as a positive role model and exemplifying professional attitude and behaviours.
• Provide clinical expertise, specialist advice and support to women across the Gynaecological Nursing services, ensuring that the provision of evidence-based nursing care is maintained.
• Ensure a holistic approach to care that is current, effective and research-based is afforded to every patient, in accordance with Trust policies and procedures, and in collaboration with all other disciplines.
• Identify and undertake initiatives and innovation to improve quality of patient care, develop the service and meet the requirements of current standards and legislation.
• Support and participate in all aspects of Governance.
• Motivate the team to establish a positive learning environment and ensure that each member of the team is valued and developed to their full potential within the Outpatient competency framework.

Requirements

Significant experience working in Gynaecology Outpatients and a desire to develop skills and career within the Trust.
