Main duties of the job
  • Manages the ward and resources effectively, taking steps to ensure that appropriate staffing levels and skill mix of nursing experience and skills is in place including effective rota management, annual leave and training arrangements.
  • Has full oversight of the nursing staff rota and is the authorised individual to ensure rota management and rostering standards are maintained and are effective.
  • Ensures that all members of the nursing team receive clinical supervision, appraisal, CPD requirements and complete mandatory training.
  • Addresses shortfalls in development and ensures that training and performance issues are addressed.

Job responsibilities

Priory Stockton Hall is looking to recruit a Ward Manager to join the team. This is a full time role of 37.5 hours per week. The hospital is a long-serving medium secure facility near York, serving the local Provider Collaborative and multiple National Collaboratives, with a track record of successful patient pathways. You will be part of a compassionate team and perform duties as described in the overview and main duties sections.

  • Manages the ward and resources effectively, taking steps to ensure that appropriate staffing levels and skill mix of nursing experience and skills is in place including effective rota management, annual leave and training arrangements.
  • Has full oversight of the nursing staff rota and is the authorised individual to ensure rota management and rostering standards are maintained and are effective.

  • Trained and current Assessor/Supervisor.
