Job summary

Elysium Healthcare seeks a Ward Manager at Arbury Court in Warrington to lead the nursing team providing high-quality care to women with Mental Health conditions. You will work with the senior Nurse to manage on-call duties and budgets, while fostering a positive, learning-focused environment across the ward.

The role requires a nursing qualification with NMC registration, a compassionate leadership style, and a proven track record in similar settings.

Responsibilities

• Lead the nursing team to provide high-quality care and support to women with Mental Health conditions.
• Provide supervision to staff across the ward and lead care teams.
• Manage the on-call service and ward budgets under the supervision of senior Nursing staff.
• Act as a role model, promoting teamwork and a positive learning environment.
• Take charge of the ward when designated.
• Ensure clinical governance standards are followed and improvements are made.

What you will be doing:

With experience from the NHS or private care, you will lead the nursing team provide high-quality care and support to women with Mental Health conditions, while also supporting your colleagues and promoting good teamwork. As a Ward Manager, you will empower recovery and deliver supervision to staff across the ward to deliver great healthcare. You will work alongside the senior Nurse to manage the on-call service and manage the ward budgets, and lead by example, acting as a role model to all members of the nursing team, leading care teams and creating a positive learning environment that makes a difference and changes lives for the better.

Other duties include:

• Providing Clinical Leadership and expertise
• Providing leadership and guidance to support a unified service and engaged workforce
• Ensuring that high standards are in place, followed and improved in accordance within the Clinical Governance framework
• Utilising and supervising all nursing staff effectively
• Being an expert resource on Nursing care of service users within the specialism and hold a key role in the multidisciplinary team
• Maintaining a positive and collaborative environment to allow ward members to reach their potential and maximum their ability to provide high-quality care, staff welfare and staff training
• Designated to take charge of the ward

Where you will be working:

Location: Arbury Court, Townfield Lane, Winwick, Warrington, Cheshire, WA2 8TR

Arbury Court provides medium and low secure care and Psychiatric Intensive Care (PICU) for women aged 18 years and over with Personality Disorder (PD) and mental illness. Each service within the site has a unique focus, ensuring that the needs of all women can be met. Patients can move through services as their needs change, to focus on the next step in their recovery journey.

The service offers a personalised assessment and recovery-based treatment pathway for women with complex needs. Using the rehabilitation and recovery treatment approach, we ensure that care is focused on the person.
