NHS is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Ward Manager for Fendrod Ward, Cefn Coed Hospital. This role involves managing multi-disciplinary care for mental health patients, ensuring quality services while leading and developing the nursing team. The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday with potential shifts as needed.
Job summary
We are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Ward Manager for Fendrod Ward, Cefn Coed Hospital. The post holder will be a Registered Mental Health Nurse, with experience of working with patients with mental health issues, complex needs with a recovery focused philosophy.
The successful candidate will be required to work Monday - Friday, however may also include shift work outside of core hours when service demand is required.
Fendrod Ward is a Male adult acute treatment Ward, providing multi-disciplinary care and treatment for patients who experience a wide range of mental health problems, aiming to support them through their recovery journey in the safest and least restrictive manner.
Main duties of the jobThe post holder will be responsible for the Operational, Clinical, Performance and Governance Management of the Ward. This will entail effectively managing the nursing services and resources within the Ward. This is inclusive of managing the daily functioning of the ward, responsibility for all staff management, resource allocation,modernisation and development of the workforce.
The Ward Manager will lead, co-ordinate and contribute to the delivery of a quality service for patients and their families or carers, by the setting of standards and providing continued responsibility for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care, via the nursing and Multi- Disciplinary Team which are coherent, consistently applied and in line with Operational Policies.
