A leading NHS Trust is seeking a Clinical Ward Manager responsible for clinical leadership and day-to-day management of a ward. The role encompasses staff management, patient care delivery, and ensuring compliance with professional standards. Job summary
The Clinical Ward Manager will be responsible for providing clinical leadership to all ward-based staff and ensuring the MDT provides a consistent approach incorporating recovery model to patient care. They will also ensure day to day operational management of the ward is effective and efficient.
The ward manager will have overall management responsibility for the delivery of care within the ward, in accordance with Trust policies and procedures. To lead a team of nursing staff in the delivery of high-quality evidence-based practice, ensuring that regular supervision and appraisal take place. To co-ordinate multidisciplinary working, maintaining excellent communication and working relationships with all team members, and other services within the Trust, to ensure effective interface and continuity of care between disciplines and services.
The post holder will carry out nursing procedures to a standard that ensures safe and effective care, and complies with The Nursing and Midwifery Council's Code of Professional Conduct.
There is an expectation that the post holder will place the needs of service users at the centre of care delivery. The Ward Manager will be a visible, accessible and authoritative presence in clinical areas providing assistance, advice and support to staff, patients, relatives, carers and visitors.
