Job summary

Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Ward Manager for Finchingfield Ward, an 18-bed male acute mental health unit providing psychiatric assessment, inpatient care and treatment.

The post holder will oversee care assessments, develop and evaluate care programmes, work with the Clinical Manager/Matron, train learners, and foster integration with community services while remaining flexible to service needs.

Job Overview

The post holder will be a Ward Manager based within the Linden Centre on Finchingfield Ward. Finchingfield Ward is an 18-bed male acute mental health treatment ward which provides psychiatric assessment, inpatient care, and treatment for men experiencing acute mental health difficulties.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is responsible for overseeing the assessments of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care for service users with mental health needs. The post holder works under the overall management supervision of the Clinical Manager/Matron and is required to undertake the duties of the post autonomously, but with support. Active participation will be required in the training and education of learners allocated to the ward, and will also encourage integration between the ward teams and the community services. To carry out any other duties commensurate with the duties of this post. This is an outline job description and may be subject to change according to the needs of the service, in consultation with the post holder.

What is Staff Bank?
