An exciting opportunity has become available for a full-time Ward Clerk on Ward 6D, Respiratory Ward at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital.
The Ward is a 28-bed Respiratory unit with a fast turn-over of patients, requiring the successful candidate to be extremely organised, committed, and hardworking. It is essential that candidates have excellent IT skills and can speak confidently to patients when dealing with their enquiries, either face-to-face or over the phone. The successful candidate will also be responsible for using trust patient IT systems including Pens/Dashboard and IPM, ensuring patient discharge letters are sent and filed, and follow-up appointments for their next treatment are arranged if required. Enhanced organisational skills are necessary to maintain confidentiality and keep case notes, letters, and documentation securely. The ideal candidate must be approachable, committed, and kind, wishing to actively participate in what is a friendly and hardworking team as well as directly engaging with the public.

The ward clerk's role involves answering phones, dealing with patient enquiries, filing notes, and ensuring documentation accuracy. Additionally, they will be responsible for ordering necessary documentation for the ward, maintaining digital boards with consultant information, using the IPM system to confirm patient arrivals and schedule new appointments, and sending out appointment letters.
