Job description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across clinical and non-clinical roles. We provide acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to over 1.15 million people, expanding to 2.2 million with regional and national services.

We are seeking a Health Records Clerk to support clinical care by providing efficient management of patient health records in a ward environment. The role involves ensuring records are accurately administered, confidential, and processed appropriately.

The successful candidate will cover multiple wards as needed, undertaking duties such as patient reception, answering phones, booking appointments, and maintaining demographic data on our management system.

  • Previous clerical/reception experience and customer service skills are essential.
  • Good organisational, keyboard, and communication skills, along with proficiency in computer systems, are required.

This is a GGC-wide post, initially based at Gartnavel General Hospital, with the possibility of transfer to other locations.

Details:

  • 1x permanent post
  • 22 hours per week
  • Shift pattern: Monday, Tuesday 8AM – 4.30PM; Wednesday 8AM – 4PM

This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Health and Care Worker visa. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde cannot provide a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).
