Band 2 Ward Clerk (General Surgical Unit) - Full Time / Part Time

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Ward Clerk to join our busy admin team within the General Surgical Unit.

Full Time / Part Time hours considered.

We are looking for a self-motivated individual who can work well within a team and also demonstrate the ability to use their own initiative.

The role of a Ward Clerk requires good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently.

You are advised to read the job description and person specification before applying for this role.

  1. Answer calls politely, ensuring all relevant messages are relayed to the appropriate team.
  2. Greet all visitors to the ward in a helpful and polite manner.
  3. Assist with any enquiries.
  4. Maintain accurate patient records, including admission, transfer, and discharge information on the Trust’s Electronic Patient Record system.
  5. Organise patient porters and transport bookings.
  6. Participate in maintaining ward cleanliness and tidiness.
  7. Maintain stock and supplies according to ward requirements.
