Job Overview

Frimley Park Hospital is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated maternity team as a Ward Clerk/Receptionist. We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to support our Antenatal Ward. Full-time and part-time options are available.

As the first point of contact on the ward, you will play a vital role in providing a warm and professional welcome to mothers, families, and visitors. You will be responsible for managing telephone enquiries efficiently and ensuring that all visitors are signed in and out of the unit appropriately, supporting the overall security of the ward.

You will be welcoming mothers and visitors, answering phone calls, ensuring the security of the ward and supporting the midwives, doctors and maternity support workers with their administration.

This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to a vital area of care, supporting new families during one of the most important times in their lives. If you are passionate about providing excellent service and working as part of a caring, professional team, we would love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a organised, and proactive individual to join our team in a key administrative role that supports the smooth running of our ward. This varied role involves data entry, reception duties, and the management of patient admissions, transfers, and discharges using our electronic systems. You will also be responsible for ordering stock, reporting faulty equipment, answering telephone calls, and performing a range of general office tasks to support the wider clinical team.

The successful candidate will have a strong sense of professionalism, be highly vigilant in maintaining patient privacy, dignity, and confidentiality, and demonstrate a warm and approachable manner. Excellent communication and social skills are essential, as is the ability to remain calm and helpful in a busy and sometimes demanding environment.

We are seeking someone who is flexible, reliable, and enjoys working as part of a lively and supportive team. You should be confident in using computer systems and able to manage your time effectively while balancing multiple tasks.

If you meet the criteria outlined in the person specification and are looking for a rewarding role where your contribution is truly valued, we encourage you to apply. This is a great opportunity to be part of a dynamic NHS team delivering high-quality care and support to patients and their families.
