Overview

We have an exciting opportunity within the Child Health Department at the Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital, Margate, and The Kent and Canterbury Hospital, Canterbury. We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced administrator to provide high-quality administration support across sites.

Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the clinical team and initial reception duties for services users.
  • Cross-site cover to Kent and Canterbury Hospital; majority of work based at Rainbow Children’s Ward, Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital, Margate, with weekly support to Dolphin Ward (children’s day ward) at Kent and Canterbury Hospital.
  • Provide administrative support to the ward and ensure ward administration tasks are performed to a high standard.
  • Work closely with the medical, nursing and management teams to support the safe and efficient running of the ward.
  • Cover may be required for the permanent ward clerk at Dolphin during holidays.
  • Hours are negotiable; the successful candidate is expected to work over 4 days.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, strong IT and interpersonal/administration skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly within an ever-changing environment, work under pressure and prioritise tasks.
  • Ability to converse easily and provide accurate spoken English for customer-facing roles.
  • Disclosures: Disclosure and Barring checks are required; enhanced checks for posts working with children or vulnerable adults.
  • Applicants for eligible roles requiring sponsorship must meet UK Visas and Immigration eligibility criteria.
  • No-smoking policy applies on all sites.
