Job summary

A national health service provider in Scotland is looking for an Administrative Support staff member to provide effective clerical support for 19.73 hours per week. Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience, proficient IT skills, and strong organisational abilities. The position is fixed-term for 6 months, based in Wishaw, with benefits including annual leave and pension scheme membership.

The Role

The provision of efficient and effective administrative/clerical support to a receiving unit to ensure the smooth running of the department and to release Clinical staff to perform Clinical duties.

Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years experience in an administrative/clerical role.
  • Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work independently.
  • Work under pressure.
  • Pre‑existing or planned progress towards ECDL.
  • Basic training in Management of Aggression.
  • Education to standard grade.
  • Experience working in a confidential setting.
  • Knowledge of NHS systems, office procedures, data protection and good keyboard skills.
  • Flexible.
Contract Details
  • Fixed‑term or secondment for 6 months.
  • Part‑time – 19.73 hours per week.
  • Salary pro‑rata.
  • Secondment requires written agreement from line manager.
Location and Working Pattern

The role will be based in Surgical and Critical Care within Motherwell/Wishaw Locality. Applicants shortlisted may be considered for similar vacancies in alternative locations.
