Job description

WAN Architect

Location: Basingstoke, with regular travel to customer and Fujitsu sites.

Our purpose is to make the world more sustainable by building trust in society through innovation. As a Site WAN Architect, you will work collaboratively within the project delivery team to design and deliver medium to large network solutions that are cost-effective and enable services for our customers.

We are seeking a Site WAN Architect to work on delivery opportunities within the secure Defence and National Security sector. Your role involves providing technical leadership, understanding business and technical requirements, producing design documentation, passing governance reviews, and ensuring effective technical delivery of solutions.

Your experience:
  1. Understanding customer business and technical requirements; producing solid network solutions.
  2. Design experience proposing and utilizing technologies from multiple global vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper), including technical documentation for delivery and support.
  3. Strong networking knowledge with industry-recognized certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Juniper JNCIA-Design or JNCIA-Junos.
  4. Ability to create non-standard solutions involving LAN, WAN, WiFi, VPN, Voice, Video, Cybersecurity, and Security technologies, liaising with cross-responsibility teams.
  5. Understanding of the project lifecycle from requirements gathering to Operational Acceptance, with commercial and financial awareness of risks and dependencies.
  6. Supporting project and programme management with reporting to ensure timely delivery that meets customer expectations.
  7. Excellent communication skills with stakeholders, ownership, quick decision-making, and calm, concise communication with customers.
  8. Previous experience within the UK defence sector is preferred.

This role requires candidates to be eligible and willing to undergo a high level of security clearance.
