Are you experienced in leading, managing, encouraging, and empowering teams, possibly from a fast-paced, unionized environment? Join Sainsbury’s as a Warehouse Team Manager within our Operational Execution, Supply Chain & Logistics team at our distribution centre.

Our success from a small shop in 1869 to a leading UK retailer is driven by innovation and a relentless pursuit of improvement. Your role will be to lead and manage daily warehouse activities, including resource allocation, capability development, and utilization, ensuring consistent business performance and standards across operations. Building strong external relationships with stakeholders, including stores, and identifying efficiencies and continuous improvement opportunities will be vital. Additionally, you will oversee compliance and support our People Plan through effective HR practices.

To succeed, you should have a solid understanding of legislation, policies, and processes related to people management, safety, health, and environment, and be able to apply them effectively. You should have a proven track record of inspiring large teams, building mutually beneficial stakeholder relationships, and making confident decisions in dynamic environments. Skills in process improvement, influencing change, maintaining focus under pressure, and knowing when to seek support are essential.

Sainsbury’s offers opportunities for career progression, exposure to different business areas, personal development plans, and a commitment to wellbeing, diversity & inclusion, and work-life balance. Benefits include paid holiday, a colleague discount card after 4 weeks offering 10% off most items in Sainsbury’s, Argos, and Habitat (with discounts increasing to 15%), and complimentary food and drinks in colleague areas at depots.

We are an equal opportunities employer that values diversity and inclusion. We believe bringing your true self to work fosters innovation. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds to join our team.
