Job summary

North East Derbyshire District Council's Health & Wellbeing team invites an enthusiastic and motivated individual to promote Walk Derbyshire and develop community activity in Clay Cross.

You will work with local partners to tackle social isolation and health inequalities, supporting inactive residents to become more active.

The role covers district-wide Walk Derbyshire activities and local initiatives, with DBS enhanced checks and a commitment to wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Walk Derbyshire and its impact on community wellbeing.
• Experience in community engagement and addressing health inequalities.
• Understanding of social isolation and loneliness and how to counter them.

Responsibilities

• Promote Walk Derbyshire activities within local communities.
• Develop and run community programmes in Clay Cross to reduce inactivity.
• Collaborate with local stakeholders to adopt a partnership approach.
• Engage residents to improve activity levels and social connectedness.

Job description

The Health & Wellbeing team are responsible for increasing Health & Wellbeing to all residents of North East Derbyshire. The service requires an enthusiastic and motivated individual, committed to excellence in their work with a passion for Community Development. The successful candidate will work at the heart of identified local communities promoting and further establishing the Walk Derbyshire programme. Develop community programmes in Clay Cross that support those that are inactive to become more active and tackle social isolation/loneliness. Collaborate with key stakeholders in the local community to take a partnership approach to your work. The successful candidate will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check carried out by DBS at the enhanced level.
