Mencap is seeking a Waking Night Support Worker to join our team in Redruth. We offer a 33-hour contract, which includes 3 night shifts per week.

As a Support Worker, you'll make a positive impact on the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will support one older gentleman in his own home.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting individuals with personal care, including helping them to bed at their preferred time, performing regular checks, and assisting with personal hygiene as needed.
  • Performing light household tasks such as ironing, cleaning, and updating digital support systems while the individuals sleep.
  • Ensuring the safety of the home environment.
  • Preparing the supported individual for the day ahead.
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy home environment.
  • Supporting individuals to stay safe overnight and meet their health needs.

What we're looking for:

  • A genuine passion for supporting others.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.

Contract options: Part-time, 33 hours

Shift times: Waking Nights: Between 21:30 & 08:30

All services provide 24-hour care with rotas planned at least 4 weeks in advance. All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
