Job summary

UK Addiction Treatment Centres is hiring for a Waking Night Support Worker at Linwood House, Barnsley (S71). The role is on-site with a night shift pattern 19:30–08:00, 4 on/4 off, and a pay of £12.71 per hour for 43.75 hours per week.

You will support clients in recovery, assist therapists with risk plans, manage records, and help with daily living tasks and transport to appointments. Training and development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting clients in recovery or similar settings.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Empathy, boundary-setting and non-judgemental approach.

Responsibilities

  • Offer information and support to clients incl. aftercare referrals.
  • Assist with risk management plans and reviews with Therapists.
  • Ensure clients follow program rules and support breaches investigations.
  • Conduct intakes, assessments and discharges efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate client records and databases.
  • Support with transportation to external appointments as needed.
  • Assist with day-to-day operations and life skills support.

Waking Night Support Worker (Recovery)

£12.71 per hour

43.75 hours per week on rolling 2 week rota

Shifts: 19:30 - 08:00 4 on - 4 off shift pattern

Main Responsibilities of the Waking Night Support Worker:
  • Offer advice, information, and support to clients, including referrals for aftercare focused on maintaining an abstinent lifestyle.
  • Assist Therapists with risk management plans and reviews.
  • Ensure clients follow program rules, supporting the manager in investigating breaches, including substance testing.
  • Conduct intakes, assessments, and discharges efficiently.
  • Keep accurate client records and maintain databases.
  • Facilitate transfers between agencies and services for clients.
  • Support clients with medication reminders, conduct audits, and maintain accurate records.
  • Work with clients to create recovery plans that are realistic and achievable.
  • Help clients attend external appointments in line with their care plans, providing transport support or accompanying them as needed.
  • Assist with day-to-day operations, helping clients manage practical aspects of daily living such as life skills, housing, and benefits.

  • Proficiency in Word, Outlook, and Excel.
