Overview

Waking Night Support Worker (Young people)

Location: Middlewich St, Crewe

Contract: Permanent | Full-time Hours: 40 hours per week (22:00 - 08:00am), 3 on 3 off

Salary: £13.68

Veritas Education provide residential services for young people. The young people we care for often require a high level of support to assist with difficulties they may have from self-harming, behaviour, and emotional difficulties. Our aim is to support the young people using a therapeutic approach to help them achieve their individual goals, in preparation for transition to adult life.

Our homes are always a hub of activity and energy where the young people can feel safe, and our staff enjoy coming to work. Your role will involve working with our young people to promote independence through support with education, household tasks and general life skills. You will also assist them with everyday life skills.

  • Assist with everyday life skills and implement a therapeutic approach as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Previous care experience is essential; full training will be provided.
  • SEN experience (Autism, Challenging behaviour, life skills, personal care).
  • Strong behaviour management and ability to work one-to-one and in small groups.
  • Professional manner; enthusiasm and friendly approach.
  • Personal care responsibilities and comprehensive induction with ongoing training.
  • Excellent communication skills; innovative, engaging, enthusiastic and inspirational.
  • Effective organisational capability; good verbal communication and listening skills.
  • Strong teamwork orientation; flexible to changing needs; can-do attitude.
  • Up-to-date DBS for Child and Adult.
