Are you looking for a full time role working Waking Night shifts?

Would you love a rewarding role, supporting our young client with a spinal cord injury in their own home and out in the community?

Come and join the UK's largest provider of complex care.

We are Active Care Group, the leading provider of complex care. Within the Care in the Home division, we support adults with spinal cord injury to live in their own homes.

Ready to take on a role where what you do really matters? Join us in Cardiff and support a warm, kind-hearted gentleman with a spinal cord injury as he continues to rebuild his independence—all from the comfort of his lovely home.

Bring your kindness to work—make every night count.

What You'll Be Doing

Each night, you’ll be the gentle presence that helps life tick along smoothly. From personal care with respect and dignity (washing, dressing, toileting), to movement support, to quiet companionship—you’ll play a vital role. You’ll also lend a hand around the house, making things feel just right. This isn’t just a job. It’s connection, care, and community, wrapped into one meaningful role.

Meet the client: Someone you'll be proud to support

Our gentleman has been on a powerful journey since his injury in 2006, and he’s ready for a new chapter of empowerment and joy. Mornings filled with family time and therapy set the tone for his day—and you’ll be part of that bright beginning. He’s got a sweet parrot named Ally and an adorable dog named Kilo, so if animals make you smile, you’ll fit right in. He enjoys shared meals, good conversation, and learning new things—so bring your best stories and a love for connection. He does ask kindly that his home stays smoke-free.

When You'll Be Working

  • Waking night shifts that allow you to make a meaningful difference while supporting someone’s independence (8pm-8am)
  • Choose regular nights or flexible, part-time hours to suit your lifestyle
  • We offer zero-hours contracts, and you tell us your availability monthly—perfect for balancing work with the rest of your life

What You'll Have

  • A genuinely kind and caring nature
  • Flexibility and reliability—we’re big believers in consistency
  • Strong communication skills and a knack for building trust and warmth

What To Look Forward To

  • Full specialist training, shadow shifts, and ongoing support from the Care Manager provided
  • Accrued holiday pay
  • Regular consistent work with rolling rotas
  • Flexible zero hours contract
  • Join the Active Learning Hub and benefit from a wide range of e learning and face to face training and development opportunities
  • A Nest Personal Pension account
  • We recognise outstanding Active Behaviours via the Active Awards programme
  • Refer a Friend Scheme and earn yourself up to £1,500 by recommending someone you know
  • ……and, of course, the support and guidance of our qualified clinical and business leadership teams so that you can really develop your career with Active Care Group
