Creative Support in Braintree, Essex is looking for dedicated support workers to provide person-centred assistance to people with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs in a flagship Transforming Care Service. This full-time role focuses on empowering independence, wellbeing and community engagement.

Creative Support is a not-for-profit organisation which provides high quality, person-centred support to people with learning disabilities and other support needs. The support we offer is tailored to the individual client’s needs and wants, whilst encouraging independence and community engagement. This role will be will be providing individualised person centred support to individuals with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs or forensic histories within a bespoke, purpose built flagship Transforming Care Service in Braintree, Essex.

Creative Support is committed to your continuous professional development. As a successful candidate, you will receive full local and corporate induction, and complete a suite of mandatory trainings along with the care certificate. On completion of your probationary period, you will automatically be enrolled onto the NVQ level 3 diploma in Health and Social Care. You will have access to ongoing professional development from our training offices in London and Reading, and the opportunity to discuss your training and development needs during regular supervision and appraisal meetings.

We are looking for calm, resourceful, and energetic individuals who are highly motivated, hardworking, and keen to support people with disabilities in a proactive and holistic manner. You will have well-honed skills in positive communication and engagement and will be able to demonstrate unconditional positive regard for our all our service users. You will support people to maintain a healthy state of wellbeing, mentally, physically and emotionally. You will (alongside members of the person’s circle of support) empower individuals to be happy, healthy, and successful in achieving their life goals.

You will have the opportunity provide effective support for service users in transitions, working collaboratively with the service user, their family and wider support network, ensuring that their needs and preferences are paramount. Many of the service users will be young adults and this may be their first experience of living in their own home, with your support and mentoring they will be able to establish a full and positive lifestyle.

You will be required to work in a flexible manner, on a roster basis, which will include weekends as needed. Previous experience as a support worker is required to work waking night roles.
