Job summary

Insight Care Group is seeking a Waking Night Support Worker in Birmingham to support young people with learning disabilities and complex needs. This full-time role (up to 40 hours per week) includes enhanced overtime and a potential bonus structure, with a focus on safeguarding and the overall wellbeing of residents.

Responsibilities

  • Safeguarding the children: stay alert at all times and follow safeguarding policies.
  • Monitoring and reporting: perform welfare checks and record information (Clearcare preferred).
  • Preparing for the next day: organise materials for key working sessions.
  • Cleaning and admin: maintain cleanliness and assist with paperwork.

About The Role

Are you an experienced Residential Childcare Professional with a passion for supporting young people as a Waking Night Support Worker?

Job Title: Waking Night Support Worker

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £27,600 – £29,700 p/a

Enhanced Overtime: +£2.20 per hour!

Hours: Full time, up to 40 hours per week

Bonuses: Up to £3000 per annum in performance-based bonuses

What will you receive?

  • Basic Salary: £27,600 - £29,700 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

What will you do?

  • Safeguarding the children: at Insight Care Group, the safety and wellbeing of the children we care for is our utmost priority. It will be your responsibility to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the children throughout the night, so you must be able to stay alert at all times. You will also have to have a comprehensive understanding of our safeguarding policies which can guide your actions in safeguarding the children.
  • Monitoring and reporting: you will be required to perform checks on the welfare of the children throughout the night and must be able to competently record this information. Experience using Clearcare is preferred, but not essential.
  • Preparing for the next day: ensure that necessary preparations have been made for planned activities the following day, for example, compiling materials required for a key working session.
  • Cleaning and admin: use the quiet time at night to make sure that the standards of cleanliness in the home are upheld. Assist the rest of the team in staying on top of all necessary paperwork.
