Job summary

Swanton Care & Community Ltd in the DL5 area is seeking a Waking Night Specialist Support Worker who cares about making every moment matter for the people we support, regardless of qualifications or experience. This is a full-time, permanent role with up to 40 hours per week.

You will provide practical and emotional support to empower individuals, promote health and wellbeing, and assist with activities such as visits, walks, shopping and day-to-day life.

Qualifications

• Are you enthusiastic, compassionate and committed to supporting people in a way which respects their dignity?
• You will need to be adaptable and flexible with excellent communication skills and able to work as part of our team.
• Experience of challenging behaviour and/or learning disabilities is preferred but all training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower the people we support.
• Respect individuality and enable people to make choices within their support plans.
• Facilitate activities such as visits, walks, shopping and other recreational activities of their choice.
• General housekeeping duties and helping to build skills around the home.
• Complete records and documents using electronic systems.
• Be resilient in managing challenging behaviour in line with risk assessments.
• Remain outgoing and professional while maintaining boundaries.
