Job summary

Ambitious about Autism's St John's College in Cambridge is seeking a Waking Night Residential Support Worker to keep learners safe and supported throughout the night, remaining awake and alert as needed.

You will respond to individual needs, help with personal care and medical needs, complete accurate handovers, and work with night staff to maintain a calm, structured home. DBS checks and safeguarding are required; visa sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in care or education is helpful but not essential.
• Strong commitment to safeguarding and safe recruitment.
• Right to work in the UK before applying.

Responsibilities

• Stay awake and vigilant to ensure learner safety and wellbeing.
• Carry out regular checks of the home and respond to concerns.
• Support learners with personal care and medical needs where required.
• Monitor health needs in line with care plans.
• Complete accurate handovers and written records.
• Work collaboratively with night staff across residential homes.
