Job summary

Allscreens Nationwide Ltd in Ripley is seeking a Care Assistant to join our care team, supporting service users with daily living needs and ensuring comfort and safety during night shifts. You’ll follow care plans, maintain hygiene, and report changes to the team.

The role requires DBS within 12 months, infection control and safeguarding training, and at least 3 months’ experience in a formal care home. Training can be online, with subsidised fees.

Qualifications

• DBS check required (Enhanced DBS dated within last 12 months)
• Infection control, safeguarding vulnerable adults and moving and handling training preferred
• Minimum 3 months experience in a formal care home setting

Responsibilities

• Follow personal care plans and assist with daily living activities
• Maintain health and safety standards and comply with home requirements
• Perform housekeeping and domestic duties as needed
• Report condition updates and record fluid intakes
• Support residents to stay as independent as possible and respect preferences
• Assist with morning and night-time routines
• Collaborate with other care staff to tailor complex care packages
• Assist with toileting, bed bathing and strip washing

We are looking for care workers to aid the existing team in caring for service users, providing cover for sickness and holiday leave. The home is located within the Ripley area which has tranquil gardens surrounding the home that make it even more special for the residents.

Duties include:

• - Following personal care plans
• - Maintaining health and safety standards and complying with requirements of the home
• - General housekeeping and domestic duties
• - Reporting condition updates and recording fluid intakes
• - Helping patients remain as independent as possible and catering to their likes and dislikes
• - Assisting with daily living activities including morning and night-time routines
• - Working alongside support workers and care works to provide a complex care package tailored to individual needs
• - Toileting/bed bathing and strip washing the service users

To demonstrate your experience and suitability for the role of Care Assistant you will need:

• - An Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months
• - Up to date Infection Control, Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults and Moving and Handling training
• - A Referenceable work history
• - At least 3 months experience within a formal care home setting

If you do not have a valid DBS and/or training, do not worry as we can help you with this. We are happy to offer online training available at a subsidised fee and the certificates are yours to keep!

You will be working nights on a as required basis throughout the week, with the option to choose the ones that work best for you, typical hours would be 21:45 to 07:00
