Job summary

OOJ Homecare Services is seeking a compassionate Waking Night Care Assistant to support Leeds service users through the night. You will respond to individual needs, monitor wellbeing, assist with personal care, and maintain accurate night reports.

The role requires the ability to work independently overnight, with a focus on safeguarding and high-quality, person-centred care. Training and development are provided to support professional growth.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in care or a similar support role is desirable.
• Ability to work independently and respond appropriately to unexpected situations.
• Willingness to complete required training and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred care and support throughout the night.
• Assist service users with personal care and daily living needs when required.
• Support repositioning, mobility, and comfort during the night.
• Respond promptly to service users' requests and changing needs.
• Monitor service users' wellbeing and report any concerns or changes.
• Support medication procedures in accordance with care plans and company policies.
• Maintain a safe, calm, and comfortable environment throughout the night.
• Follow individual care and support plans.
• Maintain accurate and confidential care records and night reports.
• Provide reassurance, companionship, and emotional support when required.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety, infection control, and company procedures.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and provide a clear handover at the end of each shift.

As a Waking Night Care Assistant, you will provide dedicated support to service users throughout the night, helping them remain safe, comfortable, and well supported. You will be responsible for responding to individual needs, monitoring wellbeing, and providing appropriate care throughout the night. This is an important role for individuals who are comfortable working independently during night hours while maintaining a high standard of person-centred care.
