Role Purpose

The post holder will contribute to the administrative functions, assisting the multi-professional team in providing a quality service. They will help with the administration of the department, booking appointments/surgeries, coordinating care pathways, and managing waiting lists.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Work with the Administration Manager to schedule all incoming referrals.
  2. Liaise with MDT team, local services, patients, etc., making and receiving calls to schedule appointments.
  3. Handle all administration for patient appointments/surgeries, including booking on the system.
  4. Support the management of waiting lists by adding patients, scheduling appointments, and liaising with clinical staff.
  5. Maintain records for all patients.
  6. Communicate with professional and clinical staff regarding queries and actions.
  7. Respond to enquiries by phone or in person, providing information and taking action as appropriate.
  8. Perform general office and clerical tasks such as answering calls, processing referrals, scanning, and photocopying.
  9. Assist in other duties to support the smooth running of the service as directed by your manager.
  10. Serve as the first point of contact for all telephone calls and enquiries.
