Job description

Welcomes customers upon arrival at a restaurant, cafe, or other eating or drinking establishment. Introduces the menu and announces daily or seasonal specials. Answers questions about menu items, ingredients, and pricing. Takes customer orders for food and drinks, either by writing them down, entering them into a tablet, or memorizing. Passes orders to kitchen staff for preparation. Prepares and serves drinks to customers. Retrieves food orders from the kitchen, verifies accuracy, and serves them. Ensures customer satisfaction and processes orders for additional courses if needed. Clears used dishes, glasses, and flatware from tables. Prepares and delivers checks, processes payments, and returns change if necessary. Sets tables with dishes, glasses, and flatware, and refills condiments. Maintains knowledge of menu items, specials, and restaurant information. Meets regularly with management and staff to discuss menu updates, reservations, and customer needs.
