Job summary

Markel is seeking a W&I specialist or underwriter to join the Warranty & Indemnity team in London. You will work on M&A transaction processes, due diligence, and deal documentation, contributing to underwriting strategy and portfolio development.

The role offers a collaborative environment, a market-leading platform, and exposure to international clients and coverholders. You will build relationships with brokers and clients while applying technical rating and risk selection to drive profitable

Qualifications

• Experience in W&I underwriting or related advisory work.
• Strong understanding of W&I risks and deal documentation.
• Ability to navigate technical rating engines and rate adequacy.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to W&I underwriting strategy and lead on new risks using established guidelines.
• Harvest insights from data to inform underwriting decisions and profitability.
• Develop relationships with brokers, distribution partners and private equity clients.
• Support portfolio analysis and iterate rating model as the book grows.
• Negotiate policy terms and maintain internal Markel relationships.
