Happy Sisyphus Productions (https://www.happy-sisyphus.com) is looking for an Environmental Artist to help bring our immersive VR experience, Colors of Our Memories, to life. This is an opportunity for someone passionate about mobile VR optimization to contribute to a meaningful, emotionally driven project while gaining hands-on experience in a supportive, collaborative team.

About the Project

Colors of Our Memories is a narrative-driven VR experience where players explore a black-and-white world, restoring through interactive memories of love and loss. The game is set to release on Meta Quest and followed by Steam in the coming months.

What We’re Looking For

We need an artist skilled in optimizing existing assets rather than full asset creation. Our environments are built using purchased assets from the Unreal Marketplace, but they need serious optimization for mobile VR performance. Your role will primarily involve:

Reducing Draw Calls – Combining meshes, using texture atlases, optimizing materials, and efficient LOD usage.

Trim Sheets & UV Optimization – Maximizing texture efficiency while keeping detail quality.

Performance Profiling & Fixing – Identifying performance bottlenecks and improving frame rates in Unity for Quest 2/3.

Some Custom Asset Creation – Only as needed, keeping the focus on optimization.

Mentorship – Mentor our Junior Environmental Artist to help with all of the above
