Job summary

A globally recognized investment bank is seeking a Sanctions Advisory SME to join their Glasgow team. This permanent role will involve providing crucial advisory support and oversight on sanctions issues within the Investment Banking and Global Capital Markets sectors, requiring significant experience and a deep understanding of relevant regulations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience (5+ years in Sanctions).
  • Detailed understanding of Sanctions regulatory environment (UK and EU laws).
  • Experience in financial crimes subject matter advisory within Investment Banking.

Currently working with a Globally Significant Investment Bank, who are looking for a Sanctions Advisory SME to join their team in Glasgow. The role will be a significant point of contact and escalation for any Sanctions queries, working at Group Level across EMEA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading sanctions risk advisory for the IBD & GCM businesses.
  • Acting as the point of escalation for the IBD & GCM businesses on sanctions matters.
  • Providing support to the business in connection with regulatory interpretation and application of sanctions policies and standards as well as the Firm's risk appetite.
  • Overseeing the application of the sanctions framework across EMEA for IBD & GCM business activities, including coordination across relevant teams.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience (5+ years in Sanctions), preferably at a large/complex financial institution.
  • Detailed understanding of the Sanctions regulatory environment (knowledge of UK and EU laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to sanctions desirable).
  • An understanding of the Investment Banking sector and experience in the provision of financial crimes subject matter advisory expertise within the sector.
