VP Real World Data (RWD)

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic VP RWD, a commercially minded, client facing leader with strong operational expertise and a natural ability to inspire and lead teams. This is a senior role in the Clinigen Managed Access leadership team, responsible for strategic Real World Data insight planning and capability development within Clinigen.
An effective member of the Managed Access leadership team, you will be the interface between the commercial and the RWD operations team and will work across the Group to build the strategic capability to enable Clinigen to be the thought leader in the MAP RWD space and drive delivery for RWD. With full ownership of the RWD P&L, this is a rare opportunity to make a lasting impact in a high growth, purpose driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Strategy and Planning
- Define and evolve the RWD strategy aligned with industry trends and customer needs, feeding into the global Managed Access strategies, including data types. This spans strategic client advisory activities, data collection through to full analysis packages.
- Design fit-for-purpose RWD solutions leveraging MAPs, collaborating with internal experts in regulatory, operations, and market access.
- Build and deliver a one-year operational plan with responsibility for the P&L of RWD.
- Develop innovative approaches to be the thought leader in Managed Access for RWD and insights derived from that data.
- Keep up to date with market trends, competitive landscape and client needs to ensure our service offering stays ahead of the competition.
- Business Development
- Act as a senior client-facing advisor to clients on RWD strategies and execution.
- Support the Business Development team in crafting compelling RWD components for proposals.
- Design clear offerings for clients that meet or exceed expectations, considering different client personas and segmentation; define bespoke offerings per segment as required.
- Drive thought leadership via case studies, white papers, publications, webinars, etc. to showcase Clinigen's capabilities.
- Operational Delivery Oversight
- Build and lead a team to deliver against client deliverables.
- Create scalable processes to enable efficient running of the RWD portfolio, meeting and pre-empting client expectations and supporting repeat business.
- Guide the operational team, ensuring quality, compliance and high customer satisfaction, tailoring deliverables to client needs.
- Senior oversight of vendor relationships supporting RWD delivery.
- Plan resources linked to pipeline requirements.
- Managed Access Leadership Team
- Work cross-functionally to ensure smooth integration of RWD components within MAPs and alignment with other Clinigen service offerings.
- Contribute to BU goals, strategy and direction to deliver long-range plans and annual budgets aligned to the Group's long-term strategy.
- Ensure key stakeholders across the Group are updated on RWD offerings and status for Clinigen.
- People Development
- Lead, mentor and develop both direct and indirect reports to drive high performance.
- Ensure the team is appropriately resourced and structured to deliver strategic goals.
- Create and maintain clear succession and development plans aligned with objectives.
- Identify and retain top talent through regular feedback, engagement and growth opportunities.
- Communicate key messages effectively across the team and broader Group.
- Collaborate with HR to address skill gaps and implement targeted development plans.
- Promote a culture of coaching, recognition and teamwork aligned with Clinigen's values and KPIs.
Requirements
- Extensive experience (10+ years) within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, CRO with a background in pharmacoepidemiology, public health, or a related life science field.
- Pharmacoepidemiological knowledge and experience, including study designs, methods and analysis.
- Strong experience in designing and interpreting RWD collections.
- Deep understanding of the regulatory RWD landscape, data quality aspects, data sources.
- Demonstrated success in strategy development for various stakeholders, client management, building RWD offerings, and crossfunctional leadership.
- Track record of leading successful teams that have exceeded sales and profit targets over multiple years.
- People manager with experience in managing global and remote teams.
- Experience in motivating and mentoring individuals to create high-performing, diverse teams.
- Excellent networker, negotiator and influencer.
- Proactive and solutions-driven with accountability and ownership for driving results through people.
- Ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to collaborate on projects with mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to engage scientific and business audiences.
