The Role
We seek a visionary VP of Platform Engineering to lead our platform development, ensuring scalability, security, and robustness of our infrastructure. This senior leadership role involves overseeing CI/CD, tooling, automation, infrastructure provisioning, security, and observability frameworks, fostering innovation and high performance across product lines. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in building and scaling high-performance platforms, leading cross-functional teams, and delivering mission-critical systems in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute platform engineering strategy aligned with business goals.
• Lead and mentor engineering teams, promoting innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee design and development of scalable, secure platforms, including cloud infrastructure and microservices.
• Ensure platform availability, scalability, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Stay ahead of emerging technologies and incorporate them to maintain competitiveness.
• Implement best practices for monitoring, incident response, and automation.
• Partner with security teams to ensure compliance with data protection standards like GDPR and SOC 2.
• Optimize infrastructure costs and manage vendor relationships.
• Define KPIs and report on platform health to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering; 5+ years in senior platform or infrastructure leadership.
• Expertise in large-scale, high-performance platform architecture, microservices, cloud-native applications, and distributed systems.
• Proven experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, CI/CD, containers, Kubernetes.
• Strong leadership, team-building, and communication skills.
• Experience with observability, monitoring, incident management, and compliance (GDPR, SOC 2).
• Degree in Computer Science or related field; certifications in cloud or security are a plus.

Nice to Have

• Experience in regulated industries like fintech or healthcare.
• Knowledge of AI/ML platforms and data engineering tools such as Kafka, Spark.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
