Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a strategic and operationally strong VP of IT to lead our organization's IT and Business Systems strategy. The VP of IT will be responsible for developing and executing an enterprise-wide IT strategy aligned with G&H business goals, driving innovation, and ensuring the efficient, secure, and scalable use of technology across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership
    • Develop and execute the company’s IT and business systems strategy in alignment with business objectives.
    • Serve as a key member of the Group’s senior leadership team, providing input on business decisions from a information systems standpoint.
    • Lead business systems transformation initiatives to improve operational efficiency, customer experience, and business agility.
  • IT Operations & Infrastructure
    • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the IT function including infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, and service delivery.
    • Ensure the resilience, security, and compliance of all IT systems, particularly with regards to Cyber Essentials + and US CMMC requirements.
    • Establish robust business systems disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Governance & Risk Management
    • Implement IT governance frameworks, policies, and procedures in line with best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage information and cyber risk
  • Team Leadership & Development
    • Lead and develop a high-performing IT and Business Systems team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships across G&H to ensure the IT and Business Systems team supports and enhances business operations.
  • Vendor & Budget Management
    • Manage the IT budget effectively, ensuring cost control and maximizing return on technology investments.
    • Oversee supplier relationships and negotiations, ensuring performance and value for money from IT service providers.
Requirements

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as VP of IT , IT Director, or equivalent senior technology leadership role within a mid-to-large UK organization.
  • Track record of delivering IT transformation programs, ideally within a regulated or high-growth environment.
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, cloud platforms, enterprise applications, and cybersecurity.
  • Understanding of data privacy laws and UK and US regulatory frameworks (e.g. UK GDPR, Cyber Essential +, CMMC).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable Attributes

  • Innovative mindset with a passion for emerging technologies and digital trends.
  • Commercial acumen and experience integrating IT strategy with business strategy.
  • Ability to lead change and achieve cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experience in a technology and manufacturing business would be advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
  • Masters Degree with a specialization in IT Management or Computer Science preferred.
