Goldman Sachs is seeking a Vice President–level Software Engineer to join the Equities Data Platform Engineering team in London. You will own architecture, deliver a cloud-native, AI-first core system for real-time analytics and fiduciary functions across Equities and Listed Options.

You'll lead, design, implement, test, deploy and support the platform while mentoring engineers and guiding technical direction for the team.

Qualifications

• Around 5–10 years of professional experience building high-performance, low-latency systems (sub-second) at VP level.
• Proven ability to drive complex, industrial-scale development independently and mentor engineers.
• Strong knowledge of Java concepts; Python a plus.
• Solid grounding in OO, data structures, algorithms and design patterns.
• Experience with JVM internals, GC tuning, and real-time operation.

Responsibilities

• Act as a technical lead on rebuilding Electronic Trading data infrastructure into a cloud-native, AI-first platform.
• Design and maintain a high-performance, highly available data platform processing massive real-time data volumes.
• Develop reliable data ingestion pipelines from trading and market data systems.
• Design distributed computation to run parallelized queries across large datasets.
• Build an AI-powered UI/agent framework delivering analytics over datasets.
• Mentor engineers and shape technical standards across the team.
