Job Overview

Bank of America is seeking a VP/Director for Hedge Fund Underwriting within Global Markets Credit. This role involves managing counterparty risk for hedge funds, analyzing investment strategies, and ensuring compliance with credit standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage a portfolio of EMEA hedge fund clients from onboarding to ongoing risk management.
  2. Conduct detailed credit analyses, including stress testing and sensitivity analysis.
  3. Lead credit due diligence calls and prepare assessments for risk review.
  4. Propose and monitor risk limits, approve trade flows, and liaise with legal for documentation.
  5. Identify and escalate limit breaches, margin disputes, and other issues.
  6. Support junior team members' development and prepare management reports.
  7. Engage with sales, trading, legal, and other stakeholders to ensure robust risk management.
  8. Assist with ad-hoc projects and regulatory compliance tasks.
Minimum Requirements
  • Experience in hedge fund counterparty credit risk roles.
  • Strong knowledge of hedge fund strategies, risks, and related financial products.
  • Understanding of global markets and derivatives documentation.
  • Ability to manage deal flow under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in quantitative analysis and Excel; Bloomberg experience is a plus.
  • Team-oriented with a willingness to support colleagues.
