Exciting opportunity for a VP / Director Carbon and Power Trader with a leading European Corporate & Investment Bank in London.

Key Requirements (Work Experience/Formal Education)

  • Experience in Carbon and Power trading is essential, along with prior relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of the Emissions trading schemes in the EU and UK (EU ETS and UK ETS). Experience in primary markets auctions is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of the Carbon Voluntary market. Ability to perform light due diligence on various carbon projects to assess their suitability and liaise with the Sustainability team for project selection.
  • Technical expertise in Energy derivatives contracts.
  • Understanding of the energy supply and demand fundamentals in Europe.
  • Knowledge of key end-consumers and suppliers in Europe and the UK.
  • Ability to execute multiple Energy contracts efficiently, compliantly, and cost-effectively within tight deadlines.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Commercial mindset and high communication skills.
  • Entrepreneurial attitude to develop the business.
  • Degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Econometrics, or a similar quantitative discipline is preferred.
