Job summary

James Fisher Maritime Transport is seeking a Voyage Operations Team Leader to guide a team of Voyage Operators, delivering commercial and technical expertise for safe and efficient voyage execution. You will oversee performance, onboarding, and relationships with customers and service providers.

You will provide leadership for regulatory reporting, environmental compliance, and governance activities, while supporting strategic initiatives and continuous improvements across voyage operations.

Qualifications

• Experience leading Voyage Operations or similar teams in maritime freight.
• Strong understanding of voyage execution, safety, and compliance.
• Ability to mentor staff and manage performance.
• Solid commercial acumen and decision-making under pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and manage a team of Voyage Operators with day-to-day oversight.
• Provide coaching and onboarding for new team members.
• Offer operational and commercial leadership for voyage activities, including regulatory compliance.
• Oversee third-party contracts (tug, port agency, bunkers) and stakeholder relationships.
• Ensure procedures align with Group policies and regulatory requirements.
• Provide after-hours support on a rotational basis and lead improvement projects.
