An established community service is seeking passionate volunteers to join the Croydon Youth Justice Service as Community Panel Members. This role offers a unique chance to make a significant impact on young people's lives by helping them build their identity and make positive choices. Volunteers will engage with young individuals who are navigating the justice system, providing support and guidance through intervention plans. This is an exciting opportunity to work with Croydon Youth Justice Service (YJS) who are looking for local volunteers to join the team as Community Panel Members (CPM’s). A great opportunity if you could spare 1.5 hours, 2 or 3 times a month (or more) to help shape the future of young people. A real opportunity to make a difference and a chance to use and develop your skills and experience.
Who we are:
Croydon YJS is part of Croydon Council and works with young people who have come to police attention and/or have been sentenced by the Courts.
Description of role:
CPM’s play an active role in creating intervention plans with young people who are subject to Referral Orders from the Court. In this role you will represent the local community when a young person has been given a Referral Order from Court. This is mainly for young people who have appeared in Court for the first time and have pleaded guilty.
