A community charity organization based in Bristol is seeking a Volunteering Manager to lead and develop its volunteering and community participation program. The ideal candidate will manage recruitment, training, and retention of volunteers, and implement relevant policies. This is a full-time, permanent role offering a salary range of £33,380 to £36,730 and flexible working options.
Since the charity’s origins, Caring in Bristol has been powered by the input of hundreds of grass roots volunteers from around Bristol. People give their time and expertise to all our services in different ways, ranging from casual volunteering shifts to long term in-depth consultation about our work in their communities. This role will work across the organisation to build, strengthen, and sustain a strong team of volunteers and community participants to support our strategic priorities.
The postholder will be responsible for leading on all aspects of our volunteering and community participation programme, including developing and implementing policies and procedures, managing the assigned budget, as well as recruitment, induction, training, support, engagement and retention of volunteers.
Contract: Permanent
Working hours: Full time (37.5 hours per week). Part-time (30 hours per week) may be considered.
Please note: This role includes an expectation to occasionally support our work outside standard working hours, including on location at our food clubs at least once every few weeks, and at least 3 days on a rota at Caring at Christmas between 24th-30thDecember inclusive of the Bank Holidays. This role also includes being on the on-call rota, approx. once every 6-8 weeks (more details available on request).
Starting salary range: £33,380 – £36,730 (pro rata) dependent on experience
Leave: 33 days per annum (pro-rata, inclusive of bank holidays), increasing annually after 3 years’ service to a maximum of 30 days after 5 years
Responsible to: Head of Homelessness Prevention Services
Location: Primarily our office in St Pauls, Bristol, with some work on site at our various projects, and the opportunity to work remotely 1 day per week.
