What difference will you make?
Contribute to creating a biodiverse, community-owned park with free natural swimming ponds. Your leadership will coordinate a diverse volunteer team, including architects, ecologists, teachers, community researchers, and communication strategists. Managing and motivating volunteers effectively will ensure their contributions align with the park's goals and maximize community and environmental impact.
What are we looking for?
Experience in developing and managing sustainable volunteer roles is essential. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, strategic thinking, community relationship-building, and volunteer engagement expertise are valued. The role embraces radical imagination, harmony with nature, and inclusive practices.
What will you be doing?
We are transforming the 14-acre Thames Water Depot into a biodiverse park with natural swimming ponds, forest schools, and community spaces, having raised £2m for land acquisition. Volunteer managers will contribute to our community-led working group, developing and managing volunteer experiences. Opportunities include leading projects in communications and governance, and facilitating group direction. The Comms Circle meets biweekly on Tuesdays via Google Meet, with voluntary tasks outside meetings.
