What are we looking for?
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and their best practices.
  • Experience in content creation, including writing posts, designing graphics, and producing videos.
  • Ability to develop and execute social media strategies to boost engagement and grow our audience.
  • Knowledge of scheduling tools (Meta Business Suite).
  • Strong writing and editing skills for engaging and impactful messaging.
  • Ability to analyse social media metrics and adjust strategies for better performance.
Desirable Experience
  • Experience managing social media for a nonprofit, advocacy group, or similar organisation.
  • Familiarity with mental health awareness campaigns and advocacy work.
  • Understanding of accessibility best practices to ensure inclusive content.

What will you be doing?

As a Volunteer Social Media Manager at Take Back Your Mind UK, you will lead the organisation’s social media efforts to increase engagement, raise awareness, and promote positive mental health conversations. Your role will expand our reach, and ensure a consistent brand presence, cultivating a supportive online community.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop and implement a strategic social media plan across platforms, including Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, Threads, and TikTok.
  • Create, curate, and oversee engaging graphics, videos, and written posts to align with TBYMUK’s mission.
  • Manage and support a team of social media volunteers, providing guidance, structure, and encouraging collaboration.
  • Engage with our online audience by responding to messages, comments, and discussions.
  • Track and analyse performance metrics to refine content strategies and improve engagement.
  • Collaborate with other teams to promote projects, campaigns, events, and mental health initiatives.

  • High-quality, engaging content that resonates with our audience and promotes mental health awareness and support.

Who You’ll Work With

You will collaborate with a team of Content Creators, Research, and members of TBYMUK’s leadership team, to ensure messaging aligns with our mission and goals.

Flexibility in the Role

This role allows for creativity and initiative. While the core responsibilities focus on social media strategy and team management, there is flexibility for volunteers to shape their contributions based on skills, interests, and emerging opportunities. We welcome new ideas to strengthen our digital impact.
